While there is no particular reason to worry at the moment about a UW Madison shutdown due to COVID-19, it seems worthwhile for everyone to spend a few minutes to verify they can connect to departmental computing resources in case there is a shutdown at some point in the future.
Users who regularly do remote work don’t need to check anything.
If you only rarely connect to the department remotely, we recommend that you spend a few minutes to verify you can connect to what you need via remote desktop or ssh.
If the BCG has not had a chance to update your laptop recently, it would be helpful if you could bring it in so we can do software and inventory updates.
